ATH-A700 [Headphone Review]

This is my review of the ATH-A700 headphones by Audio-Technica. I haven’t seen many reviews on YT for it so I thought I would do my own. This time without my sunglasses on :P

I absolutely love these headphones, worth the money and then-some. Mine have great bass but I’m also using a High Definition sound card (192khz), which really makes all the difference. The ATH-A700′s aren’t going to make a terrible sound card better(nor will any headphones), but they will allow you to experience the full potential of “HD” quality sound cards. These are a great bang for your buck buy if you already have a nice sound card and are looking to upgrade your headphones. Game 4 Life

@Ellyas87 Yeah i’m using an Auzentech Prelude (one of the top soundcards) and after some minor tweaking and burn in, these things have awesome bass.

Hows the build quality in the cord and the top part?

@Music8212 cord is braided so no worries of it messing up, also it doesn’t have memory so it pretty much moves anyway you move it. It does twist up a bit sometimes though.

The top part is very well built, the “shaky” it just from the pieces around the top they’re a little loose for me, but you don’t notice it unless you move your head a lot.

@Music8212 Hope you enjoy them, I bought them along with an Auzentech Prelude and the sound quality is pretty amazing.

I think I’m going to get a pair of ATH-AD700′s since my rooms pretty quiet and I don’t need closed headphones. I’ve had a pair of steelseries siberia which are medicore at best, but I really want to get rid of them and upgrade.

yeah if the area around you is quiet I suggest getting opened, I have nieces and a dog so it’s usually pretty loud here when they come over, the closed help a lot.

@111tag111 Nope, extremely comfortable, after several hours of use it may get slightly warm but that’s welcomed because of the cold weather here.

@111tag111 pretty comfortable, considering the “wings” on it extend and fit to your neck. I had the same problem, ended up going with these and was very satisfied :P

Are they noise canceling ?

@RiddleboxBoii Well put it to you this way, due to the recent flood in my home, I now have 7 huge fans going on full blast down stairs to sanitize the floor/walls (the people who removed the carpet put them there). On top of this I have my PC going at full blast. With these headphones on and at a reasonable listening level, all I hear is crystal clear audio.

No, but the circumaural design and robust construction of the closed back version shown here, end up “canceling” a lot of the ambient noises in your room/house. I have a lot of trouble hearing people knocking on the door to my room, and I don’t turn my music up that loud, so they muffle outside sounds pretty well.
