Japanese headphones, you gotta love em. Jet Grind Radio had it right the whole time! Build Quality 8/10 These bad boys have a great weight to them, but it’s such a weight that it doesn’t feel heavy on your head after hours of use. The cups in the ears are plenty padded, and the leather padding strip on the top of these cans are quite plush as well. I just cannot get over how flimsy and cheap the wire feels, it’s just so very thin, and I’m scared to death I’ll damage it. Although, it hasn’t malfunctioned yet and it’s been about a year, so perhaps it may all be in my head. Regardless, really wish they would get on that. The leather headband is starting to crack a bit, but it’s not noticeable from the outside. Still, a bit distracting. Sound Quality 8/10 After testing it with multiple types of music, from Jazz, to Trip Hop, to a disturbing blend of heavy metal and rap, these cans knocked pretty much all of them out of the park. Those tests were done on a simple PSP, with only a tiny bit of equalization, so how it would perform on a full fledged set up would be the stuff of legend. It didn’t sound too terrific in games however, which I know these are not set up for, but I thought I would give it a shot anyhow. Bullets and ambient sound are done very well though, so I will give them due props for that.
